i am in anticipation of my bus trip tomorrow to philadelphia.
the bus will take me to my parents house. from their house my father and i will walk to prince theater to see sidi larbi cherkaoui's u.s. premier of play.
i fell in love with sidi larbi's work, his movement, his reapportion of gravity, and his connections between and among bodies three years ago. the ensemble cedar lake contemporary ballet performed a commissioned work orbo novo.
i've never felt confident with the words i find to express what i see, what i feel, what ideas and concepts are brought forth from dance.
even more simply, i've never expressed on a screen or on the page what affects me by a piece of brilliant choreography and astounding movement.
i will give myself that challenge.
